Are you registered to vote?

October 10, 2008 is the deadline for mail-in voter registration but it is not your last chance to register for the November 4th General Election.   Click here to download a simple how-to.

A North Carolina resident who is qualified to vote but who misses the 25-day deadline for voter registration may register and vote at a One-Stop Site during the One-Stop Absentee Voting period. The One-Stop Voting period for the General Election begins October 16 and ends November 1.

Registered voters may also update their address and change vital information in an existing registration record at the One Stop Site.

Welcome to the North Carolina Prosperity Project

As North Carolinians we have a responsibility to stay politically educated and involved in the election process.  Every day government actions influence the quality of life for North Carolina families. Through laws, regulations and court rulings, state and federal leaders make decisions which in turn impact companies' ability to succeed, which in turn impacts our jobs, wages, benefits, health care and livelihood…our prosperity!

North Carolina is a great state with a world class business environment.  In the past 15 years, there has been a great decline in the number of business allies in the legislature.  It is time for us to take back the personal responsibility for electing political leaders who will protect our jobs, beginning with educating ourselves on the candidates and their views.

The North Carolina Prosperity Project is a non-partisan program that aims to create a better informed North Carolina voter.   Its easy to use, web-based tools allow you to locate and contact your elected officials, identify their opinions on issues that affect your family, register to vote and take action by voting and casting an informed vote.

In 2006, nearly 2 million voters were registered from Prosperity Project sites across the nation and more than 57 million pages of information were viewed by employees like us.

We believe when North Carolina workers are informed and active in government and elections, our state, communities and families benefit!  Take a stand for prosperity…register, become informed about the candidates and vote!

“Nobody will ever deprive the American people of the right to vote except the American people themselves and the only way they could do this is by not voting.”
-Franklin D. Roosevelt
